You couldn't get them in the US because of an embargo on Czechoslovakia (Cold War). That is why my 75 series pistols and my TA90s are all Tanfoglios. Tanfoglios are just as good and some were better, but are slightly modified. Italy was known for their excellent manufacturing of arms.

"With the U.S. market opening big-time for CZ following the thaw of Cold War tensions after 1992." (Guns.com)

You could get them through Canada, or US Service Personnel. You may have a rare CZ.
Interesting. I actually don't know that much about 75's. It was sold as a used/surplus 75B for 400 which seemed like a reasonable price.

Here's one that's a bit different. I had always, for some reason, wanted a Sharps so I finally ordered one from Shiloh Sharps. I had it jazzed up with fire-blued screws, upgraded stock with checkering and a few other odds and ends. The scope is from Montana Vintage Arms. It came out pretty well:

It's in .45-70 Government.

I've wanted one of those since the first time I saw The Outlaw Josey Wales Missourah boat ride scene!

I was not PLANNING on buying a new gun today . . . but . . . We were at Highline, they had just gotten this Mauser C96 Broomhandle in on consignment. Guy had just dropped it off 2 hours prior, and I just had to have it! It is rough, but that is fine by me, I actually like the rough worn out look- means it has seen some things! Now to decide if I keep it as is, or modify it to match Han Solos blaster in Star Wars . . . Heh - sacrilege? ;-) Instant approval for me and it came home to the Panic Room . . .

I've got one in .45-90, too. It's had 9 rounds down the pipe:

The .45-70 is unfired. Honestly, the .45-90 whupped my 78 year old butt. I really need to get these Shilohs to a good home.

Those are beautiful!
There was a time I lusted over guns like that. I still think they are absolutely gorgeous, but it's been a long time since I thought of owning one.
I'm sure it won't be hard to find them a good home. 👍

I saw one something like that (but without the beautiful stock) at a gun show many years ago. I didn't have much money back then, so it wasn't really so much I decided not to buy it as I couldn't afford it. I still think about that gun from time to time and still think those long tube scopes look awesome. But I just don't have the same hankering for one now that I can afford it. Same with the broom handle Mauser. Really cool, but no longer on my wish list. I must be gettin' old. :(

Great looking '03A1! I acquired an M-1D a while back that's still in its original packaging:

Extremely nice Mike I am a fan of the M1d's mine w Acurised by hook Bolton back in the day it's a Greek return with cmp coa.
M1c's look pretty cool and have the rareness level but the M1d is the shooter with my older eyes I like the use of the m-84
However finding one new in the box is only legendary stories we read about anymore you have a true unicorn there.
Thank you for sharing.

Had one of these back in the 90's. Internals are like a jenga puzzle and can be put back together wrong! It was fun to shoot a piece of history though. :)

If only you had my skills, you wouldn't have to worry about putting it back together wrong. Cuz, I wouldn't take it apart. "A man's got to know his limitations." :p

Man, those Broomhandle Mausers are just about the coolest-looking things going.

What's funny is that I currently have it taken apart on my workbench so i could clean it, and when putting it back together, must have done something wrong as now the hammer wont stay cocked. LOL- maybe I should have just left it as is!

From what I remember, if you can get it apart again, you didn't really hurt it. If you can't get it apart... I read you have drill out part of the receiver. I don't even remember where I read this but it was stressed as being very important to reassemble it correctly... :( Hopefully it was an old wives tale.

I think that is still 100% true- i watched 3 different disassembly/reassembly videos, and they stressed that this one part, cant remember which, but if you installed it wrong (which sounded pretty easy to do), like you said you would need to do gunsmithing to get it apart. Fortunately last night I spent some time with it, and was able to get it back and working again! Honestly i dont know what i really did differently- i just broke it down, and then carefully followed the steps to reassemble, and this time it worked! So whew. I ordered a few replacement parts- springs, firing pin etc, so I once they arrive I will take it apart one last time and then probably wont much after that as I dont plan on shooting it too much! ;-).

I've heard it argued that the Budischowsky TP-70 is perhaps the finest .25 acp mouse gun ever made. Not sure if that's true, but unlike many pistols of the same class (Baby Browning, Beretta Jetfire, Colt Vest Pocket, etc) it does have a a DA/SA trigger and an actual slide catch that will lock open on empty.
