This is my Marlin 1894c in .357. I know the additions I put on it aren't for everyone, but I set it up to be quick and handy up close, or a little further out. I didn't really want to put the rail on it, but it allows me to mount a scope and ghost ring sights, so I went with it. I mounted a 1-4x scope on medium rings, and filed a small channel into the mounts so I can still use the ghost rings. Makes a great camp gun, pest controller, and ever deer gun out to 75 yards or so.
And some of us have been into levers way before it was a 'game' - I never gave up on them...Your just before getting ahead of the game
Andy- "Hawkens rule, the rest of us drool". That's nice looking right there.. love that browning effect. Would love to brown my T/C flinter.
Marlin 45/70 for home defense
BLR 7mm mag in case they get away
Henry 22 mag for the little stuff

Somebody was very smart. They put a sling on that critter. Every long gun that goes to the field should have one attached or at least able to be attached. My 95 rifle says 30 US (30-40 Krag). It's been in the family since the 40's. Grandfather, dad and myself. It has bagged a large number of mulies and elk.
