Leaving Saturday mid afternoon and heading back on Sunday.

My buddy asked me to go to Meford so he can pick up a new car and then I will drive his Tesla back.

Where is a good place to eat on the way down, somewhere south of Salem?

Hotel ideas for Medford?

A good place to eat breakfast in Medford are there abouts?

I appreciate any and all comments.

Just off I-5 if you want to eat as soon as you walk in, sometimes I don't like to wait when ordering off the menu.

I always liked Cottage Grove - I traveled that route every other weekend for six months three years ago.
Easy on and easy off access. Depends on what you want to eat.

Thanks guy's.

The Tesla I believe is rated for 260 miles, and there are Tesla Super Chargers every 200 miles or so along the entire length of I5.

Takes the Super Charger about an hour and ten minutes to charge from fairly low to 100%, if you are good with 80% that only takes about 45 minutes. And the charger is free to the driver of a Tesla. There is one in Woodburn not sure where they are located further south.

I've always stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Central Point. It's close to the freeway, easy on & off and there are several eateries nearby. But my favorite breakfast place in Medford is the Real Deal Cafe` just off I5 on W. Steward Avenue.

Depending on what time I leave PDX, I usually stop in Springfield for lunch and my on-the-way locations are (1) Hop Valley Brewing Company just off I5 for pub grub, (2) Ranchito Grill just off I5 @ Hwy 126 for mexican and (3) the Elmers on Gateway just off I5 @ the Randy Pape Beltline is always good for a variety of meal types.

Have a safe trip.

Following...considering a relocation down Medford way. Do not know much. Safe driving!

Do recall there being an in-n-out burger just opened last year down there. Pretty decent burgers I recall from way back years ago when we had visited Cali.

Hahaha read thru the thread and in n out is even recommended by Vegans!

However I'm sure there are better local haunts.

Really good gun shop in Central Point if you have the time. Legendary Arms on E Vilas rd. Have done some fair trading with them, had some nice odd balls in stock.

I worked for Harry and David for six months. Medford is not a place I would choose to live. The company and people I worked for was top notch. I did not like the crime the lack of water and in general only one Unix shop in town. When I went down there initially it was to build a new life and retire there. It was not my kind of town.
. Housing market is going crazy down there. . To me It is a dirty little grubby town that I do not miss.

Very good to know, thank you.

Absolutely do not intend to make our forever home in town, nor was it the plan here in Salem.

Likely will live in town for a bit though, so info is handy.

Thanks!

You got two choices between Portland and Medford for Tesla quick chargers

Note that there is a switch that is LOCKED. They are happy to unlock it for you, but that means you have to stop by during working hours. Their hours are 6am (7am on weekends) until 10pm; 9pm in the winter.

HPC (with Roadster connector) installed April 2011. They also have 14-50s in the nearby RV park. And a CHAdeMO DCQC and 30A EVSE nearby.

208V 70A, Tesla connector. The spot is reserved for Teslas. In the restaurant parking lot. Mini-mart and hotel next door. Casino and another hotel across freeway (there is a shuttle).

This is right off the freeway

So your going to be about half way when you get to the Eugene area and about 75% at the Casino.

SO unless you want add an hour or so to your trip of 4.5 hours at 65 it would make the most sense to eat where you charge.

There was an amazing hot dog place right off I-5 in Albany or Shedd...I sure wish I could remember where. It was basically a roadside stand with a seating area built around it.

I'd love to go again!
