My co-worker told me my gun is cold. Does that mean it's safe to point at someone and pull the trigger?
thanks in advance.

I would refer you to the four rules of gun handling….

1.
Treat EVERY firearm as if it's loaded.

2.
NEVER point a firearm at someone/thing you aren't willing to kill or destroy.

3.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire a round.

4.
Always say, "please and thank you" and you'll go far in life.

Your friend is an idiot.

OK…. It's really

4.
Always be sure if your target, and what's behind it.

Second the notion.
Your friend has no business owning or being around firearms.
Plus the other rule forgotten above.
5. Only you can determine if a firearm is unloaded. Just because someone else told you its safe doesn't mean squat.
(Similarly, Alec did bother following this rule either! and see what it got him.)

I did't forget, I just stopped at the basic four.

If your gun is cold, carry it on your person where it will feel warm, cozy, and loved. If you must carry gun in a cold range bag, tuck a nice wool muff around its barrel. Remove muff before firing.
