I have a good friend that is a registered Republican but is the biggest leftist that I know. I often wonder how that works. Not saying that is you... just relating a story.

I would say that he votes for the worst possible candidate in the Republican primary then votes for the socialist in the main. He's also probably someone that the anti's/leftists poll constantly to gin up numbers in polls: "Do you..... support an AWB, want more gun control, mag ban, hate the NRA, hate Trump,..."

If someone cannot correctly do it. Ta Da! So, what did this simple test tell you? Hummmm......that perhaps the question is just rigged?

Remember that in WA, I-1639 was pushed through. Yet, if you asked the average voter from WA: What is an "Assault Rifle" as defined in WA Law?

I would bet that you'd get a whole lot of incorrect responses.

This little nugget happens to be the up there (for me) in most dangerous (% listed are combined support/oppose/don't know):

POL4_9: Eliminate taxpayer-funded insurance for banks that provide services to the rearms industry (44, 34, 21)

Are people *really* dumb enough to oppose FDIC on their savings/checking accounts because their bank "provides services" (which could be interpreted as little as offering a business checking account to a guy that sells reloads from his garage)???

POL4_10: Use regulators to put pressure on banks discouraging the nancing of the rearms industry (46, 37, 18)

I'm sorry, but are we *really* talking about using the power of the federal government to to force private industry to choose some action? Does that 46% not understand that this is just one more step toward State Run Capitalism - a tried and true economic system with very predictable and grotesque outcomes?

Outside of those, it's refreshing that section POL8_ shows that most polled don't place blame on others (CNN/Fox/NRA/Trump/etc). However, far too many people think that white nationalism is a critical threat to the country, only proving that if you shout it long enough, people will start to believe.

Glad to see that respondents simply blame everyone for dividing the country and have distatse

Did not read how they came up with the poll, kind of doubt it was accurate BUT, there is a hell of a lot of gun owners who are all in on gun control. I have been saying this for decades, often gets some gun owners REAL angry. Many will flat out deny it's true even though it's easy to prove. It is why we have the mess we do. If we can't get a lot of gun owners to wake up and see what is going on we will not be able to stop this garbage.

I think polls are all BS anyway with carefully worded questions to facilitate the result the pollster wants.

Yep Wife works with one of these. The co worker owns a gun, that was bought for home use long ago. They are not about to give up that gun but they rant constantly about how the NRA is the antichrist and such. Every time a shooting in mentioned in the news this person starts in on how we need to ban guns. Not their gun of course .

I actually have been on and off over my lifetime. I'd say, roughly, 5-6 times on wildly different issues. My wife has too at least once that I recall. (She's feisty and let the pro-tax person she was talking to have it. )

When I was a young person, I answered their questions. Now I just hang up; I'm too busy and don't really see the point.
