My neighbor has an old Colt pump twenty-two (22 short?) from his dad and he'd like to get some values. He's also got an older Winchester 1894 30-30.
His father refinished the wood on the Colt, but the steel is original and in pretty good shape.

I can get pics of the Winchester, but all I have right now is the serial number which is: 1254109

That's a Second Model Colt Lightning. They made them from about 1890 to 1905, that serial number suggests a pretty late one. In decent shape I see people (that actually want to sell) listing them around $650 to $775 with 'good' finish and wood.

Your Winchester serial number dates it to 'Wartime' when Winchester was supposed to be concentrating on military work, but 'snuck out' as many civilian guns as they could. They didn't record starting or stopping serial numbers from the end of 1942 until September of 1948. Yours is in that batch.

Presuming that the '94 is just a 'plain' .30-30/.30WCF, with a 20" barrel and flat butt stock, I would value it between $500 and $600, but if I were selling, I would by all means, get some good pictures and put it up on Gunbroker. Some rather plain ones have been pulling prices that I consider obscene. I put one up for a friend (as In I took the pictures and set up the auction page, he made the sale himself). A nice clean, well preserved, but 'plain' 1950 model 94, it sold for $1,300.

Hope it helps.
