Yes, "peacocking" is an actual word/term.
With the 4th coming up and all, and though we really have no actual BBQ action up here, what do you have (firearm-wise) that you might sport upon your hip at an actual "BBQ gun" event.. would such an occasion present itself to you?
Me, I'll leave my unworthiness under my Hawaiian shirt. lol
If I had a beat-to-heck or better M19 (the revolver), I'd probably say otherwise though.
 
If I dont venture to the peoples republic of portland, & Im at a local BBQ Im thinking Ill dawn my Taurus 66 with its leather holster.

It may not be tacticool but It'll be noticeable.
 
I'd probably rock my fave 1911...but this guy is the definitely doing it big.
