I asked her not to take it and shoot it until I could have a look at the sear engagement.

she took it and shot it anyway, said it works fine. That sear engagement look less than 50% to me, but I could be wrong. In comparison to a Glock (which a p80 is absolutely not) the sear engagement is minimal at best. It's passed my drop test, functions fine (apparently), but I am unsure about the engagement here. Thoughts?
 
That looks like only about 20% engagement.
I would want more.
60% or better.

Carefully bend up the tab on the cruciform and re-check.

If you have a spare slide end cover, cut it in half and make an Armorer's Cover Plate so you can observe what is happening during the press.
Use a mag and dummy rounds to do the checking.

It's been fixed since. Also, there's a bevel on the rear of the firing pin catch that makes it look like there's less than there was.
I did those things that you suggested probably a day or two after that post.
