My personal experience here:

1. I hate when a thread gets closed for non-firearms related bla bla bla, especially in Off Topic.

2. During the last election cycle, I took a hiatus, because I knew I would be banned if I didn't.

3. We must get out the vote, Why shouldn't we have the ability to advance a position an encourage people to get involved.

4. I get that this is a firearms forum, and

5. I respect Joe gets to set the rules for the guests.

6. I greatly appreciate that when some topics were recently closed a reason was posted and clear and not "non-firearms related, bla bla bla"

7. If the topic was closed "Religious argument" or "Personal Bashing" then that is at least a better explanation.

8. There are topics which I would have banned, had I been the moderator, which are open.




I'd like to see a sticky (locked) clearly spelling out what is allowed in each sub-forum.

They may originate from anyone with a [D] in front of their name, but they often get signed and pushed by the right as well...take the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994...most notably the "Assault Weapons Ban" part.


In 1994, GOP held the majority of the seats in both the house and the senate...

Don't accuse me of not being in NWFA corner. Someone asked a question, made a comment and I responded. I am truly having a hard time with the fine line that is supposed to be walked. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon, or simply ignore everything remotely political and stick to topics like which rivet should be used on the front trunion of a Romanian AK build.

To be fair to the responsible Moderator, the problem was that questions were asked and answered that strayed a bit off topic and were of a nature that focused on Dem vs Repub, etc.

It is hard to do, but the Staff want us to focus on the topic and not the people as in left vs right etc.

Those are fun topics ( Especially Amnesty) but I'm a "Single Issue Voter" ( 2A/RTKBA)for last few election cycles
