That is a very cool program.

I have some books about Viking and Medieval swordsmanship ....these books are based on archaeology finds...
Things like wound strikes on skeletons ...as well as some actual medieval manuscripts.

The big thing here is letting the weight of the sword do the cutting for you...and not doing flashy , showoff swings like Conan.

Might not be as fast as a bullet but he gets from one end of the house to the other pretty damn quick and someone might prefer a bullet rather than his jaws locked on and a game of tug of war with a body part.

I keep a good size crowbar in the bedroom just in case we get stuck in there during an earthquake. Would definitely ruin someone's day to use it as a defensive tool, but so would the firearm I have at my bedside.

High-powered (1000 fps) airguns, paintball gun loaded with metal or rubber balls (essentially another airgun).
Those can work VERY well for discouraging both 2 and 4 legged. I keep a couple Tipman markers for this. For the Canada Geese I use one with what they call training ammo. Kind of soft bright colored reusable if you wanted. Have even used them on some pesky Raccoons. When they were too close to the vehicles and I did not want to chase them far enough away to kill. Started shooting them with these and after a couple times all I have to do is open the door now and they scatter. Also have but have not tried some ammo they make that is hard plastic of some kind. Made to cause pain. Sure looks like it would do that as they will sail through a bunch of layers of cardboard. Last is the ones that the Police use in riots that are filled with OC. These are pricey but work. For Christmas I let the Wife get me a much higher end AR looking marker that uses mags. That way can keep different mags loaded with the different ammo ready to go.

Baseball bats are getting kind of expensive. An axe handle will do just fine, and is quite a bit cheaper.
What American kid hasn't had a baseball bat since they were about 10 years old?

A hockey stick is also a suitable substitute, so long as it's a wood stick, not those stupid fragile composites. a PMP 5030 Paul Coffey would do some serious damage. I've been slashed by my fair share.

Very nice of you to LET your wife get you that. Lol. I'd actually be interested in the details of the one she got you because I think they are a pretty great defense/deterrent and the various loaded mags makes a lot of sense.

Not too many I guess, at least back when they weren't worried about which pronouns to use. I can remember having a few but left them all behind after several moves. Bad planning.

Anyway, an axe handle is easier to wield with one hand.

Softball bats bought many years ago at garage sales. Are whats placed around the house.
If you want to know what all is in the house that either is designed for self defense or what ever. You just need to know I have one From a #2 pencil to a shortsword from a ball pen hammer to cast iron skillet.
