It sure seemed quiet at the FFL's place in Vernonia this afternoon, but it could be that my ears were still ringing from the .45 cans that we tried out.

I brought along a smorgasbord of different .45 ammo to put through his SWR HEMS and Gemtech Blackside (on a Kimber and an HK), and surprisingly the Hornady TAP +P 200gr. was as quiet as the cheap range stuff. But that Cor-Bon DPX was a real shocker - even though it was subsonic it still sounded like a cannon going off.

Maybe someday Hi-Point will come through with their .45 carbine and then we'll see some really quiet, really affordable packages.

How does the .357 supress. I'ld imagine that you probably shoot .38spec, to avoid the sonic crack.

I handload 158 and 180 grn sub loads instead of shooting 38spec,
Quieter than any of my 9mm auto pistols with a can because of
no action noise.

I do have more family but no pictures of them
