I played several hockey tournaments in Philly. Those aren't words I would use to describe it.

IIRC, it was the only city where we had a dedicated security guy on the bus.

I responded to a bird flue outbreak there and had to do sampling in live bird markets in Lehigh and Kensington. I spent 7 days in those areas and never felt more unsafe and grossed out by the things I seen. The other 32 days I spent in the country depoping birds on farms. That was a way better experience!
