I think we can put the dog to rest, being a man has nothing to do with generational influences or age.
It has to do with environmental choices. Young men do have a choice and some see it. And some choose to not be men but be what TV tells them they should be and when I see those types I laugh pretty damn hard.
The idea that old wiser people are dictating the world on men and manlyness is hogwash. Men have been so called manly since the dawn of man. Men like to get in the thick of it and get dirty and work hard it makes us whom we are. There is something primeval about being manly type guys, it seem to verify that you are a provider and you are a safe person for your mate.
Its not a generational thing to be a manly type man. Its called normal process. It doesn't make you unmanly in my book to not have the ability to be a manly type guy. But in my opinion every man should want to be that manly guy and genetics can be a beotch but shouldnt take the manly out of the man. I will be honest I am getting older 53 to be exact and I wish at times I could be more muscular like I was in my 20's, but tell you what I still enjoy being a man and doing those manly things I enjoy. That is nothing against strong women as I am married to one too ( lucky me shell kick your arse too LOL) . But I can tell you most women want a strong confident man. Not one that finds getting a 2 for one at starbucks as a life accomplishment. I just find it hard to be around other guys that do not enjoy being a man.
