I don't make mods to old guns that are irreversible without reason. For example, I can see rechambering an old gun in an obsolete rimfire to a known safe centerfire. I can see doing a lot of work restoring what would otherwise be trash. But stuff like this I can be okay with. Heck I am okay with bubba'd SKS's that had no permanent mods. But if you can't restore it to original easily, I would think long and hard about that. I would need a compelling reason. Next paycheck, the 1908 gets it.

This is more, advanced accessorizing. Modern stuff... that gets a little more molded. 10/22 and the like get strange mods.

But don't worry too much. I kept the original barrel unmolested. But I really wanted to suppress the 1903 colt. Per some serial checking this is a 1919 manufacture date. Bought a threaded barrel. Put the original aside.

Awesome that's the way to do it! Preserve the originality but have fun with it too. Thank you for not butchering it irreversibly. Cheers!
