So it looks like the best way for mom to get the deer in the truck easier is to quarter it up.
I know you or she has a knife capable of this already

I use a "fence stretcher" to lift deer and other critters. A block and tackle with a lock. Getting hard to find though. I'd post a picture if I could figure out how to do it!

Use the come a long but don't drag the deer up into the truck.


Hinge that plywood and attach it to the far end of the wood.

Then the deer just slides in when it gets high enough

Get 1 or 2 pool noodles to place between the tailgate and the bumper,then take the cables off. Lowers the gate about 6-8 inches and makes sliding easier
