The belts I've bought that have lasted longest - an S.D. Myres belt, two lined belts purchased from Don Hume in 1975 and 1982, a George Lawrence belt (Portland, OR - no longer in business), and a Bianchi belt purchased in 1992. I must admit, I don't buy them often, and I try to take care of them. There are some intelligently designed nylon belts today, but I prefer leather. I notice the price of leather has spiked very noticeably, which makes me wonder if cattle are an "endangered species".
