Plug: for those of you in the 97229 area (East Washington County), there is a town hall (10am and 2pm) on March 23rd for some of the politicians who support this bill. If anyone is interested in attending, please do show up, or give me a PM.

I know it's the same day as the rally, but one could go to the 10am, and still get to the rally by 12:30 to attend. Or if you cannot make the rally, but want to do something, here is your change to speak up and just voice your concern.

Not to piss on anyones cornflakes but it feels like we are trying to hold back the tide. All you need to do is look at the future voters. The state run indoctrination centers are doing a fine job of crapping out little leftists every year. You all think how bad the millennial generation is? their kids are even worse and will be hitting voting age for the 2020 election cycle:mad:

We all are that little dutch boy with his finger plugging that dyke

Man, keep an eagle eye on the KIDS... They're the reason we're all in this mess. The next time one of those little sh* commits an atrocity at school, we are all gonna go down for it. There will be a tidal wave of Mom's in brightly colored t-shirts up our collective butts.

.. And, since the school system is not willing to secure the schools, I almost think it's inevitable one of those little Instagram-addled porn-addicted jerks will eventually strike again.

This is an existential threat. Imagine if this happens during the current legislative session. I almost want to say we need to start defusing this bomb now, proactively.

[H]andgun restriction is simply not viewed as a priority. Assault weapons ... are a new topic. The weapons' menacing looks, coupled with the public's confusion over fully automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons—anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun—can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons.
We need to start an ad campaign with lots of non-scary guns, wood stocks, blued barrels, and maybe Wilford Brimley;) explaining that these guns are also now "assault weapons".

Done. Hope we're flooding their in-boxes ...
The flood is what gets the attention.

Dear so and so:

I have a hard time understanding why the most informed authorities on gun violence are continually ignored in the debate over gun control laws.

Police officers overwhelmingly say it is more important to protect the rights of Americans to own guns than it is to control gun ownership (74% of officers vs. 53% of the public). (Pew Social Trends, January 2017)

The National Association of Chiefs of Police (NACP) polled 20,000 sheriffs and police officers. 76% of those polled say that armed citizens help law enforcement reduce violent crime. They are more pro-gun than the general public. This links to their survey results:

Please understand that news organizations poll 1000-2000 people to get a 3% confidence on the opinions of the entire US population. NACP surveyed 20,000 police out of a million sworn officers.

PoliceOne, an organization of about 380,000 active and 70,000 retired officers, surveyed 16,000 members on gun control in 2013.

71% said a ban on so-called "assault weapons" would have no effect on violent crime.
20% said a ban would make crime worse. This is a link to their results

These are the experts. These are the guys I believe, and I respectfully suggest you believe them too. You are in a position to ask street police who see crime every day. Go ask street police. They can't be fired for disagreeing with a mayor like a police chief can.

Maybe get this mailed out to all the Senators and Representative and or the newspapers with the implications? What does it mean to the citizen and society? How does can this information be helpful for policy decisions?

I wonder if publishing news like this is good or not? It could cause some of us to throttle-back our efforts, the anti-rights groups to go into overdrive.
That's possible, maybe I should have included a note to not let up the pressure. I plan on staying in full attack mode on these bills. I believe SB501 is dead but I will not let up pressure on the rest.

This is a bit worrysome to me also. Especially when commenting on what they suspect what type of clothing someone wears or even if some one would display a flag would make an opinion, not valid in appearance of a voice in favor of firearms rights. I could care less what they would wear as long as they were in attendance for a just cause. This cause is the our second amendment, and the right to bear arms, that I personally feel is a God given right. If it is for this cause, and not display to create trouble, it seems like an excuse that may or may not even exist. I would rather just be said that it is agreed in principal, but not those who are presenting feelings of unjustified laws being passed. If anyone has rained on a parade, it has not been any that are resentful for these unlawful laws that are being considered.

The problem with antifa types is they don't respect all of our rights, especially our 1st amendment rights. If they don't agree with our speech then they try to shut it down. It would not surprise me if a significant number don't share much love for our 2a either. I know some do but I would bet the numbers are small.
