"The Safer Neighborhoods Gun Buyback Act, which was reintroduced this week by Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-N.J.), is the latest attempt by Democrats to address gun violence. The bill has 22 co-sponsors."

Payne, Jr. Introduces Gun Buyback Legislation
Dec 16, 2015
Press Release

Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) today introduced the Safer Neighborhoods Gun Buyback Act of 2015, a bill that increases incentives to sell back guns used in crimes around the country, provides a stimulus to the economy, and recycles the sold guns into environmentally-friendly objects.

I love the guys url Payne House http://payne.house.gov/

no, see how this works is you offer $10,000 per gun and I sell you back several of my more useless ones. Then I consolidate into a few very high quality ones including a few NFA items. You get less guns overall, I get better guns. We are both happy. You pay for it by taxing Bloomberg

So the Federal government is proposing to buy back guns for more than they're worth with MY tax dollars?!?!

Well.....I guess to a Socialist/Democrat it's not my money anyway!

I'm against using this, or any other buy back program..Not only would they get a statistic that their BS program is working, but,THIS-

"However, the debit cards cannot be used to purchase firearms or ammunition and cannot be redeemed for cash. The cards will automatically notify dealers that a purchaser is attempting to use the cards to buy guns. If they violate this provision of the law, both the purchaser and the dealer will be responsible for repaying the government in the amount of the gun sale or will be imprisoned for not more than 2 years, or both."

Uh, just buy your usual groceries with the debit card and then use the money you didnt spend on groceries in your checking account to buy guns.

Or buy some $1 coins from the US mint and spend the $1 coins on GUNS.

I swear, I must be a freakin genius to see these loop holes when 22 legislators cant.

Wouldn't it be easier to claim a bunch of non existing dependents when you apply for welfare, get free food stamps, receive a free cell phone and medical insurance, not pay any taxes and then keep the guns you now have.

I imagine too that it probably wouldn't be restricted from buying "parts". Say, a full upper and LPK off of Ebay for that Spectre 80% lower. I'm guessing these 'rocket scientists' don't have it set up to flag the parts for a gun, just complete guns.

Lots of ways to work around their attempt at control.

You can't buy my Second Amendment. I will never sell my firearms.

125% MRSP buyback though. Can you see the truck sized loophole that would bring? Like buying a $10,000 barrett, get $12,500 back. I'd mortgage my house and buy 1000 keltecs. Get $75000 back, buy a bigger house, rinse and repeat. Heck, I have a credit card with a $50,000 limit on it. I could be making $12,500 as fast as I could buy and sell back the guns.

I do. But I refuse to participate if it passes on principle. The anti gunners would scream that the "huge numbers turned in!" was a success for their MSM articles. I refuse to hand them anything they could consider a success.

We can't let bills like this pass. It's a slippery slope at best. This is just another foot-hold gun-control advocates want to notch their belts with and the what comes next? I can just hear them - "Oh, the voluntary buy backs worked so well let's go fo MANDATORY BUY BACKS!" Or how about outright confiscations - nothing would tickle Hillary more!
