From My "Black Powder" Days.

We used to play "Split the Ball". Take a double bit axe and drive it into a firewood round. Set 2 clay targets placing them on either side of the exposed axe blade. Shoot a round ball so as to split the ball and break both targets.

Also we had string shoots. Hang a prize from a string. Charge per shot. Cut the sring and the prize is yours. Good fund raiser for charities.

Another was "Ring the Gong" Had to hit a bell/gong from 100 tards (black powder/ round ball). The routine was to aim, fire, return to standing at port arms, before the gong rang.
