I've got this little gem when my grandpa passed away. Closest I can find in google is that it's possibly Persian/ India? Any input is appreciated.

The build suggest Persian, or some other area like that.Someone took a lot of time with the tacks. The lock looks like a Tower of London lock? Andy, jump in when you get a chance.

Neat looking pistol
Tough to pin done the country as many areas used similar styling.
As suggested Persia and India are good guesses....
So are :
North Africa , Turkey , and The Caucasus region....Spain and Italy both may be a remote possibility as well
I would lean towards a North Africa region product.

The lock appears to be English or at least a copy of a English lock.
The hammer is of the "double throat" kind which , on English locks / styles of locks , was popular from about 1800 and really took off in the 1820' and 30's.

As noted above the muzzle is flared in the Blunderbuss style.
Please note that the flared muzzle was not for shot spread...but for ease of loading while on horseback , shipboard and on a moving stagecoach.....also important to remember , is that it was just a trendy style at times and places.

Something else important to remember is that many "antique guns" were made for a long time , well into the 20th century , in that part of the world for the tourist trade...Made as in from scratch or new made with old parts...
So some guns may not be as old as they first appear.
Andy
