Hey...gimme back my rifle.... :D
Neat flintlock there for sure.

I would say that you have a Southern Mountain Rifle...circa 1830's - 1860's.
That said....many rifle makers in Tennessee were still making Flintlocks well into the 20th century.

The markings on the lock could be the lock maker...or who sold the rifle or lock , as a general rule
Also as a general rule...a name on the barrel is the actual maker of the rifle .
However......many exceptions to this are out there.

FALL & CUNNINGHAM - 1853-1861 - DAVIDSON COUNTY

From 2015

I do agree that you have a antique flintlock rifle.
And it could very easily be pre-Civil War.

However...

It is wise to the guess of the age of the rifle or any old firearm...based on the whole of the rifle / firearm...
And not just a specific part or detail.
Many a old gun has "re-used" parts or old parts in place...even if the whole gun is newer than a particular part.

Not trying to be argumentative here....just tossing out the above as something to consider.

Very true

I read that Fall & Cunningham was a hardware store until 1853. So they could very well have just sold the locks and the rifle assembled later by another
