I have a Lyman Great Plains percussion rifle (50-cal) and looking to add a Lyman Great Plains pistol in the same caliber.

In the early to mid-1800's how would a settler or pioneer have carried a pistol? Had the holster been invented yet? Now-a-days does anyone make holsters for percussion/flintlock pistols?

The first 3 are historical examples, the last being a repro. I especially like the pistol/knife combo.

Oh, very cool. Yeah, my little friend Peter does not like the idea of a pistol tucked into my pants without a holster. Do you have a name/website for the repro?
I don't have the link for that one. I've made a few leather holsters and countless sheaths, but I'd need the gun in hand to make a good fitting holster. You can also look up "pirate holster" and similar belt options can be seen.
