Who was cooler - Sam Troy or Steve McGarrett? Tough call.

The only thing wrong with The Rat Patrol is that it only lasted two seasons. Not enough episodes.

The original Five-O was the best. The remake was a total joke.
But the coolest of them all was James Sonny Crockett and can be hard to beat....

Another real good war TV series. Vic Morrow was great. I can't stand Ric Jason for he's always in the office trying to keep his hands clean.

The first, and last, time I took my Grandpa to a movie it was Saving Private Ryan. He was horrified.

His brother was in WWII, and my grandfather was on his way to town on his way to the army with his draft notice. When he was halfway there, the guy on the radio said the war was over, so he turned around and went back home.

We left not long into move. My Grandpa was probably thinking that could have been him.

Reminds me of when I saw The Deer Hunter in a theater. A couple of friends from high school with me. One of their fathers had shot himself in the head the past year or so. When it got to those Russian Roulette scenes in the movie, that was pretty intense. We stayed for the entire movie. Even though it was riveting, not a movie I wanted to see again.

I just never leaned into that show. Maybe they were TOO cool?

For my money, the coolest of them all was (and still is) Lucas McCain. His crybaby son Mark - not so much.

Yes... Too Cool with the Same 'Ole Story! It's really very hard to get into that series.
It can be worst today. I can't stand NCiS. A bunch of cool looking hobo's in the police force spending millions of taxpayers dollars and new gadget trying to chase 1 lowlife... NO Way!
That's why I love Rambo, 007, Macgyver, Michael Knight, Steve Austin.... A whole battalion against "One Guy Does it All."

I saw Platoon in the theater when I was a kid. The scene where they fall asleep in the jungle and the NVA set off the claymores.. man that was intense.

There are also lots of cool AR variants in that movie. CAR-15, M16, maybe a 605...

Anyway, I recently re-watched Platoon and it still holds up IMO.

Did you know that Johnny Depp was in that movie? He was the translator when they ransack the village. I can't believe he can speak Vietnamese that well too.
