While I know that Bellingham has a reputation for still being somewhat left leaning, nothing compares to the insanity found in the SF Bay Area.

Early welcome to the State! Washington does lean left, yes, but the more I examine our laws here compared to other states I really am glad to live here. Some things could be better but overall, this is a fantastic place to be both in terms of just being a beautiful state as well as a good gun law/self defense state. Umm... no NFA guns though

Be sure to check out Boundary Bay brewery when you move up to Bellingham.

Welcome. Curious, why Bellingham considering that you already know it's left leaning? Yes, anything is better than CA or NY, but personally I've seen the decline of Oregon and WA over the last two decades with gun laws, especially lately and am eyeing other places. Florida is one option but Idaho seems like a place that is much safer from political idiocy, at least for the rest of my lifetime.

Welcome. I spent this last week up in that area and agree that the downtown section is like any big city in the PNW, freaks n geeks.
I saw quite a presence of R leaning signs, flags and bumper stickers.
I also saw many Trump supporters on a bridge one day waving to traffic to boot!!!!

You will love Bellingham compared to Frisco. Welcome aboard. Plantation is a great range. I am on the road now but will be back in the he islands just west of Bellingham, tomorrow night.

Good breweries in the town if you like that sort of thing hing and I do.
