Hey guys the military will be handling blood samples in a 3rd world environment, not in the US, they have to eat, sleep, and poop sometime and that will not occur while wearing hazmat suits. When they return home they will go on leave. GI bodies must be wrapped in a plastic shroud and should not be washed. The protocol calls for it to be placed into a zippered leak-proof plastic bag and then into a second bag. The bags and the room will then be disinfected.
The driver who takes the body to the mortuary does not need to wear the protective gear, but the mortuary workers should. The body should be either cremated or placed into a hermetically sealed casket — at which point the remains are deemed safe enough for a funeral.

As for Ebola/US it can be spread through sneezing. Have you ever been on a commuter jet during the holidays, at the peak of flu season, or in an elevator in a department store while Christmass shopping?:(

My biggest fear about Ebola is not so much the person who flys in to a Amewrican airport, its if it hits south/central America. Imagine the human wave that will be rushing up here all sneezy and drippy.

To a greater degree Ebola is much harder to control. There are no real gurantees in life and the way you lead your life has a lot to do with what happens to you. If a person wants to see how many people that they can copulate in a year with, guess what - that person is more than likely to come down with a sexually transmitted disease. You dont take care of yourself and dont practice hygene likely your going to pick something up eventually. I just dont see how any president could have isolated the country completely from a disease. I am willing to bet that more people die this year from car accidents or cancer than ebola in the United States. That does not make it right but it puts it in perspective. Is that the preidents fault as well? any president? You choose.

:D I am looking out for you ruby. With all the people going to die from Obola and obamacare there should be lots of work in the death industries.:s0142: Always look to the future.

Sam - pretty evident we are on opposites sides on this politically. I just don't have time currently to deal with your preaching, I wont call it drivel because you bring up some interesting points - some of which I agree with. I was doing something important, like deer hunting, versus arguing points of an anarchist who thinks that they can only obey those laws they want and wrap it under the disguise of patriotism. I support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights but realize that even though they are law of the land they are not the only laws. They have never been the only laws. The Bill of Rights can be changed and has been modified in the past. If a great enough need arose again it could be modified as well - so just keep alienating people to your cause through rabid verbalization. Just my opinion - good luck.
No, what you were doing is strategically hiding from your licking and letting time pass. We all still see the Statist for what he is. Between you and I, I see no Anarchist. The Statist and Fascist I mentioned earlier are for all to see.

By the way, when a right is so very important that it is the ONLY one that Shall Not Be Infringed upon, no, it cannot be changed. It doesn't matter how many Socialist's told you so, they are the ones that told you that we live in a Democracy, which in the end is nothing more than mob rule. Our Founders were smarter than that. They knew that comfort would create evil and that we would need protection from that evil. Like it or not, you are the evil we are protected from. The first Ten Amendments are separate from the rest, giving them the name Bill Of Rights. You may want to look at your countries history and rules before you attempt quoting them.

By all means, keep on with your "more important things". For example, we are being set up for another Bush/Clinton election in '16 and your type will continue to present that as "choice". The one needing the luck is the guy surrounded by his enemy(whether he views them as friends or not). I live in a place that is free and farther than your kind will even travel for your "deer hunting"(I've got $100 that says you came home empty handed with a hangover.). Good luck to you.

Your half right as usual. No deer but no hangover. I came home because of a job interview. We saw lots of does and several branch bull elk. Sometimes reality gets in the way of having fun. You probably dont know anythng about that.

Meanwhile, in Spain, officials said a second nursing assistant has been placed under observation for Ebola in a Madrid hospital where a colleague became infected after working with two Spanish missionary priests who contracted the disease in West Africa and later died at the center. It was not known whether the second assistant also treated the two priests

They are edging closer and closer to admitting airborne transmission.

Article V: Amending the Constitution
AP_Constitution_Article5-300x254.png The <broken link removed> can be amended, or changed. The Constitution provides two ways in which it can be amended. First, Congress can propose amendments when 2/3rds of both houses agree. Secondly, when 2/3rds of the state legislatures apply for a convention call, Congress must call a convention for proposing amendments to the Constitution.
Proposed amendments must be ratified by 3/4ths of the states in order to be ratified and become part of the Constitution. No amendment banning the slave trade would be allowed until after 1808.
The Bill of Rights and other amendments to the Constitution were ratified following this procedure.
In his <broken link removed> , President <broken link removed> praised the Constitution's provisions for amendment, and cautioned Americans to approach changes with prudence and <broken link removed> .

This thread is about Ebola, it is very rude to carry on a flame fest that has nothing to do with Ebola here
If you want to be childish and petulant you are more than welcome to do so IN PRIVATEo_O

O.K., I've just started paying more attention to this Ebola. Today I heard they euthanized a pet dog of an Ebola patient in Spain.

So dogs can transmit Eblola????

We haven't got a chance here in the States. It's like a minefield of poop around the sidewalks, bike paths and river trails around here in Eugene/Springfield.

Charles L. Bailey supervised the government's response to an outbreak of Ebola among several dozen rhesus monkeys housed for research in Reston, Va., a suburb of Washington.
What Bailey learned from the episode informs his suspicion that the current strain of Ebola afflicting humans might be spread through tiny liquid droplets propelled into the air by coughing or sneezing.
Or barking?o_O

Why yes he did as does every president does with the military if there is a need of their service. What so new about that?

Being medical police is not the job of our military on foreign soil.
It is a direct attempt to expose and bring the disease back to the US.

Just one more American military decimating steps by the DC theif.
The degree he has destroyed our military is criminal and this one also
affects every citizen in this country.
Only his blind worshipers can see no wrong in this.

im not sure what the real concern here is with ebola. yes, its a nasty virus, yes it has killed people before. but we live in a developed nation with actual hospitals, not tents to treat sick people. we have antiviral drugs that can be used to treat the illness, not wet rags to wipe the sweat away. we dont need to import medical personnel, they live all around us.

im all about being prepared for emergency situations but ebola will never be an issue here in the US for the foreseeable future.

It is already an issue ! It crosses to animals and very capable of becoming airborne and extremely deadly. If you believe this is just like a simple flu, then go and assist the people handling these patients and expose yourself.
Pretending it is not deadly and serious from a thousand miles or more away does not hold water.
Put your actions where your mouth is and then maybe people will listen.
I don't want it here with my family in my neighborhood.
Most of the people I spoke to at the VA hosp and a few from OHSU disagree with you also and are upset about it being brought to the US and felt it should have been treated in the country it was contracted in. And definitely do not like our military being deliberately exposed to it as is being done now, because they know it will be brought to their front door.
IT IS NOT THE JOB FOR THE US MILITARY TO BE EPIDEMIC POLICE ON FOREIGN SOIL.

Remember Taku, our president is more of a puppet than anything. There are others that are orchestrating this BS.
But this has gone far too easy to this point.Years past these folks never would have made it here.We still have a couple weeks to see if others have been incubating right?
My kid heard a report that's saying 1/4 of the population will fall from Ebola before it's over.I'm guessing fear mongering but I would bet if it hits India or other 3rd world countries it will go fast

Maybe just make sure no planes or ships leave the continent?
I'm good with the navy and air force being off shore taking care of it
I think they have written death sentences to those that they send there

I know i repeat myself too often but look at the way they handled the aids virus, 30 million have died from aids. They could have had far fewer deaths if the would have quarantined those who had it but quarantine was not PC. So they killed millions. People were told all kinds of lies to protect themselves but the fact is the government fail on the aids virus.

Ebola is the same kind of virus but faster. Question is will they kill off millions by being PC on Ebola?

Don't forget the aids virus was passed through the blood supply to some victims.

Knowledge can control fear, read up a bit and see how aids was handled.

Ebola scare in Frisco: Patient identified as deputy Marjorie Owens, Jason Whitely and Tanya Eiserer , WFAA 3:58 p.m. CDT October 8, 2014

Crews transported a patient exhibiting "signs and symptoms of Ebola" from a Frisco CareNow to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.

"Right now, there are more questions than answers about this case," said Wendell Watson, a spokesman with the hospital.
The patient was identified as Sgt. Michael Monnig, a deputy who accompanied county health officials Zachary Thompson and Christopher Perkins into the apartment where Thomas Eric Duncan stayed in Dallas.

The deputy was ordered to go inside the unit with officials to get a quarantine order signed. No one who went inside the unit that day wore protective gear.

According to Christopher Dyer, with the Dallas County Sheriff's Association, Monnig said he was feeling sick to his stomach before his visit to the clinic. Dyer expressed concern for Monnig and his family.

Frisco Mayor Maher Maso said "risk is minimal" from the new potential Ebola case. Frisco Fire Chief Mark Piland said the patient was transported because he had "a few" symptoms that matched those in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, but not all of the symptoms.

It will take up to 48 hours to get test results back to determine if Monnig tests positive for the Ebola virus.

The CareNow is located in the 300 block of Main Street. Patients were held inside the clinic as crews at the scene examined staff and others inside the building, but they have since been released.

"The patient claims to have had contact with the Dallas 'patient zero,'" according to a statement from Dana Baird-Hanks, a spokeswoman with the city of Frisco.

Health officials said the transportation of the patient was done out of an abundance of caution.

"We are being very cautious and are in contact with the health department to ensure we follow proper protocol," said Vicki Johns, with CareNow. "Our concern is for the safety and well being of everyone in our clinic."

News 8's Jason Whitely spoke to Chuck Moreno, who had gone into the CareNow facility with his 15-year-old son to get a flu shot Wednesday. Moreno said he saw a patient, whose skin was flushed and who was hunched over but walking, enter the clinic with his wife.

Within minutes, police and fire units surrounded the facility, taped off a gray SUV, and isolated other patients at the facility.
Moreno asked a CareNow employee if it was related to Ebola, and he said the employee nodded her head "yes."

Moreno said he and his son quarantined themselves into an examination room, put on surgical masks they found in the room and sprayed disinfectant on themselves. Moreno said staff told them he and his son couldn't leave the clinic and would be transferred to a major medical center, but he was unsure which one at the time.

Outside the building, people in hazardous material suits readied an ambulance for transport of the patient.
