Riiiiiight, she's just the incoming head of the Democratic National Committee.......:s0131:

And as such, sets the "planks in the (political) platform" the party candidates plan to campaign on.

Great. The better job these anti gunners do of defining themselves, the clearer things will be on election day.
Then we'll see how many left voters truly believe in gun rights.

:s0155: Seems to me there used to be a flag......coiled snake...four words....yeah. The desire to curtail the freedoms we are all guaranteed is not restricted to any political party. The acquisition of power demands limiting the avenues of opposition, and acquisition of power is what the politicos live for.

I have enough of those flags, including a nice red/white cotton version to outfit our entire posse at TEA events. Note the original had the snake in 13 parts, (for the 13 colonies) indicating we patriots needed to stand together in order for the snake to have power. The logo included the word UNITE!

Condemnation!!

There. Not exactly really Lefty, but I do care about people, unlike you crazed Right wingers. heh j/k

Here's the difference

A lefty wants to take some of my fish that I worked hard to catch and give it to the poor and thirsty

I would prefer to teach them to fish on their own instead of stealing my fish..and I would eliminate the government regs making fishing nearly impossible

I am a liberal who supports the death penalty, by means of the Electric chair, for crimes of violence such as murder, theft and rape using a weapon. If we made the punishment and consequences equal to or greater than the crime, IMHO it would send a clear message to ANYONE who misuses a firearm for violent crimes. And as a social liberal I admit to the truth that registering guns of legal owners / users does nothing for decreasing crimes using firearms.

Are you sure you are a liberal? More likely you are a Centerist. I am also socially liberal but I'm economically conservative, so the real definition of my politics is I'm a Centerist.

BY the way Socially Liberal has nothing to do with socialism or liberalism by today's definition of the words.

A Rightie steals some of my fish and gives it to a fat cat, so they can use that power to create more righties, so they can steal even more fish. And when all the fish are gone, until they are shooting the fat cats, who cares!

Yup, we should all depend on the Gubbernut to dole out our can of tuna, now what's your take on "Wasserman Schultz Calls for Background Checks on All Gun Purchases?" No comment ??

Either way, you'll keep TROLLING for more fish buggy,...

This fix gun checks movement is pretty simple, they are pushing two points.
These are from Splash

"
1. Get all the nanes of people who should be prohibited from buying guns into the background check system.

2. Require a background check for every gun sale in America
"
I like the first one, and since we no longer have any privacy at all, it will happen sooner or later.

The second would be a pain, unless it was made free, fast, and easy to use.
As a private party, I don't want to sell a weapon to a crazy (used loosly), checking a drivers license and relying on my judgement of someones character, especially when they are trying to hand me a wad of cash, isn't very good.

Could it be done free, fast, and easy? And if so would there still be lots of opposition?
Our current system is a pain.

What if you could log in, input the info required on the current form and get an approval number within a few minutes?

I just threw back the same sort of BS that was thrown out. Quid pro quo.
Of course, you had no prob with BS that sinks up the other side, and from that little hint, you could get a clue.

I'll accept that as an admission of your clueless statement, the rest means nothing to me as I addressed your clueless false statement.

So you have no problem with a huge, huge, huge infringment, probably the single largest infringement on the 2nd amendments ever attempted?

Really? is that really where you fall on this issue? do you really have no problem with that? please clear this up if I have confused your complicity on that issue.

Right. Let's have another left right pissing match, that will stop this legislation. Fact is, pro gun lefties are strategically placed to really put the monkey wrench in this type of elitist nonsense, if we can pull some moderates and conservatives together around a re-frame of the debate. For example, if the issue is gun violence, why not push for more, and better mental health services? That means more money for these programs (I know from personal experience that these services are very effective). This would be in line with Col. Dave Grossman's view of gun violence : "It's not the hardware, it's the software."
Why not push for summer jobs for young kids? Again, this takes money, but much less than locking kids up.
This debate is another example of the extreme dysfunction of our politics. The right uses the pro-gun cause to rally voters and raise money. The left uses the anti-gun cause to rally voters and raise money. Neither side proposes any practical ideas.

Be specific about what the huge infringement is?
