OK....so today I picked up about 8 pounds of empty brass in .223 Rem. I thought that the price was fair and I never asked about how many cases that 8 pounds represented. I just figured that I'd take a chance.
So anyway, when I got home from picking it up. I decided that I should record some weights of common brass used in reloading. You know.....just in case some reloader might run across a potential DEAL. Mind you that.......I'm just doing a quick and dirty weight check (one case) without regards to primer type or brand of brass.
.380 Auto 46.3 grains
9mm 64.3 grains
.38 Special 66.5 grains
.357 Mag 81.2 grains
45 ACP 93.1 grains
.223 Rem 97.6 grains
.308 Win 185.5 grains
8mm Mauser 175.0 grains
.30-06 189.2 grains
7000 grains to a pound…...so, do the math.
Aloha, Mark
