The propaganda with the "car vs gun" is even worse than combining accidents with homicides and suicides. Here is what the graph looks like from one of our "favorite" new sources, DailyKos. Note: you can google"car and gun deaths" and look at images to find comparable graphs pretty easy. Notice the HUGE drop off just after 2005.

Why the huge drop-off? Was there some new law or technological safety feature that was introduced? How about 1) a worsening economy combined with 2) increasing gas prices. In addition, 3) an aging baby boomer generation driving less and 4) a younger generation not as interested in cars.
Meaning fewer miles driver = fewer accident = fewer car accident deaths.
