Brass scrap price $2.10 a pound and going up

Wondering why brass is expensive? So I took in 16lbs of brass to get a idea of what scrap price is now at cherry city metals (Salem). Well as of Tuesday august 16th 2021 it was $2.10 a pound. Hard to want to sort and sell the standard 9mm and 223 at that price.

That is decent, last time I sold my brass scrap I got $1.65 a pound, I wonder how much tungsten carbide is, have about 10lbs of that right now

Remember to save decapped primers, those are also brass. Don't throw them away, include those with other scrap cartridge brass.

Sheesh I have probably 15lbs of spent primers! Two feeder tubes from two progressive presses into one large bin. It gets heavy fast.

Well now. I looked at all my culled brass (~25 lbs), spent primers (~15lbs). Then looked at the surplus I have of 223 (~80lbs) and 7.62 (~35lbs).

Wonder if I could sell it to re loader's for 2 bucks a pound? I have so much 9mm brass I have long just given it away. Have to say 2 bucks a pound makes it tempting to see where the nearest scrap yard is.
