"After many hours of well-intentioned, respectful negotiations on Wednesday, the Senate has come to an impasse. The Senate Republicans have decided to abandon their duty to serve their constituents and walk out. The Senate Democrats have requested the assistance of the Oregon State Police to bring back their colleagues to finish the work they committed to push forward for Oregonians. As the executive of the agency, I am authorizing the State Police to fulfill the Senate Democrats' request. It is absolutely unacceptable that the Senate Republicans would turn their back on their constituents who they are honor-bound to represent here in this building. They need to return and do the jobs they were elected to do."

I like this ^^. Yeah, right! NOT. "Negotiations"? Should read... 'We told them how it's going to be done. That's how THAT majority negotiates!

This has shades of burns a few years back.
Also.. for those that are saying on this site that even though they don't want cos and trade, but these guys need to come
Back and vote and do there jobs.
Your seeing grown adults saying we will never and we will find a way to blow this up for the nation to see.
Its called giving your middle finger to the man!
It's there at of fighting. While many just sit there and complain.

Weekend Senate sessions now cancelled over "militia" threat: Oregon Senate session canceled after militia threat

Seems the 3%ers volunteering to watch over the Republican 11 out of state constitutes a "threat" in Salem.

KGW spins and flips but lets it slip that the legislative session was cancelled because of a planned rally: Oregon Senate session on Saturday canceled due to safety concerns over planned rally

Note in the quote below that they didn't know the 3% were even going to be there. I wonder if the 3% even know this? Plain and simple they don't want to face their constituents.

Breaking...Oregon Senate session CANCELLED for Saturday after reports of a rally planned at the capitol that may include militia group members. This after 3-percenters offered protection to @ORSenateRs which they declined."

Yuppers. The group may also include clowns riding unicycles while they juggle jello as well.

Or its just us forumites and other Republican voters who are by and large, relatively well armed.... calling us voters who voted against the ruling party; a militia:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

And Boquist didn't help the rhetoric one bit.

Agreed, they are afraid of facing angry voters.

I added to my post above. KOIN and KPTV seem to be the only Portland media that aren't completely in the bag for the Brown Shirts .

If that's all it takes to keep legislators and the governor away is the III%'ers saying they'll protect 11 republicians senators, then dang it, we need more of this!!!

I think this needs to come to a head and this is a good time for it... If they're planning on returning at 10:00 AM Sunday, they should be greeted by several thousand Oregon Patriots!!!

It's long past time these tyrants be removed from office, perhaps this is the first salvo...

I'm so livid, I can't ezpress the frustration I have with the corrupt, two faced leadership we have in this state. Makes organized crime look like choir boys...

Livid, I totally understand. Just don't let it cloud your judgement. All you guys going to the rally keep your heads on a swivel. Don't want anyone getting Lavoyed.

If the groups can basically camp out on the steps of the Capitol, all the way through to June 30th, maybe that'd work and maybe, just maybe the People seeing this will reconsider who they're voting in next time...

Edit. Instead of a weekend thing,.make it so that if they plan on coming on days when most people have to work... they still see a big group of us?

And when they did it, nobody sent out the BROWN SHIrTS to force them back.
There was so much spin in that my laptop rolled right off the table.

It isn't about climate or environment. It's about taxing business "we don't like", skimming off the money and redistributing to businesses "we do like"

This and hb2007

People show up that don't agree with them and they run ? A 3 percent tent city in the yard sounds like a good Idea.

Which day would be better (make the most impact) to show up, Saturday or Sunday? It sounded like Saturday should be the official protest day, but the capitol is going to be closed now, so does that make Sunday better (assuming the scoundrels will be "working" on Sunday)?

Sounds like Sunday now, because the snowflakes cancelled Saturday's session...
