If anyone is interested in computer gaming, there's a big LAN Party coming up called LANFest Northwest. Here's a short summary of what it is...

~140 person LAN Party, Open to the public, $25, ~42 hours of gaming, raffle prizes, benefits charity. Held at the Ronler Acres Intel campus, Hillsboro, OR. For details, read on. :)

If you like playing computer games, or know someone who does, wouldn't it sound too-good-to-be-true if someone told you that you could help US military families by playing video games for an entire weekend? Sounds crazy, I know! But that's exactly what we're doing… How you ask?

LANFest Northwest!

LANFest, sponsored by Intel, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that holds Computer Gaming "LAN Party" fund-raisers, with 100% of our proceeds going to other non-profits organizations. LANFest Northwest is our local Oregon chapter of LANFest, and our next event on March 2nd through March 4th (held at the Intel Ronler Acres campus) will be benefiting Operation Homefront ( http://www.OperationHomefront.org ). Operation Homefront helps our service members and wounded warriors with emergency financial assistance, food assistance, repairs, and other critical needs.

For only $25, you can get a ticket to LANFest Northwest, bring your computer to play games all weekend (~42 hours straight if you like), win cool prizes, play in tournaments, and support military families. The event has about 140 seats and is open to the public, so invite your family and friends of all ages. You bring your computer, we provide game servers and networking with a fast internet connection, and you come have fun! What could be an easier, more fun way to give back to those who give so much!?!

What could even sweeten the deal? How about the fact that our awesome prizes (usually things like motherboards, memory, CPUs, SSDs, graphic cards, and other PC related items) are won by raffle, just for being there, so it doesn't matter if you're a pro gamer or not; you can win by just being there.
