This is just the first step in a long list of things the commie oops I mean the dems want/ and will do...if Trump loses in Nov, and or if the Dems take the Senate...you can kiss it all goodbye.. fight the good fight...

Not the first step, and not the last.

Trying to (and sometimes succeeding) ban private manufacture (without FFL license) of firearms has been going on for years. Some years ago the gov successfully banned sharing of 3D layout files for 3D printing of various firearms. I could be mistaken, but that may have also applied to CDC instructions too. IIRC that was eventually reversed?

Ditto with 80% firearm kits/jigs/etc. - various lawmakers and gun control advocates have been trying this for a while.

Currently, at the national level, passage is not likely. After November, much more likely.

Take action as appropriate for your current situation.

So all hand routers are now on the chopping block?

Carpenters and Cabinet makers are gonna be pissed:eek:

Equals gun making machinery

It may get through Congress but it will be DOA in the Senate. Even if it made it through both Houses, Trump would veto it.
Just goes to show what control freaks the Dem's in Congress are.

All they gotta do is make purchasing and selling metal a restricted activity, bam, $500 tax per lb of industrial metal, a special MFG license, and on registry just like the NFA

On one hand, a great many people would be all for that, especially to reduce "metal theft" for scrap, and put more control of materials under govt departments (OHSA ans EPA would love nothing more than the disappearance of junkyards and privatw scrap recycling places)

On the other hand... a whole industry thats based on home machining/fabricating/welding would get up into arms against that.

What a bunch of idiots, there are literally millions of "milling machines" in the country, some over 100 years old. How are you going to control all of them? Plus 99.999% of the time they are used for other purposes.

They won't. Just another do-nothing law but the optics will make the anti's hearts flutter.

The congressional staff idiots that write these bills don't have a clue what a milling machine is, what they do, or how they do it. They don't know if it's the size of a hamster or an aircraft carrier.
.....To them, it's just the name of some kind of mystery-miracle-machine-thingy that can somehow produce something that can be a part of a gun. If they were told that a home "auto-phazma-pooter" was something used to make a gun, those would be targeted for banning too.
.....And then they'll use it to ask Bloomberg for another ten million bucks to push yet another "sensible" law, "that those evil/racist/bloodthirsty/childkiller Republicans' will block.
