I remember reading a few years back about a womans body that was found outside of a football stadium in florida on game day.
When they questioned another woman who was leaving the game about what she thought, she said that she was really just angry that the "ordeal" was distracting people from the awesome game that was just played.

Sports fanatics are a strange bunch of people.
They're obsessed with a game in which they have no stake, they are not playing, and they cannot effect the outcome. Then they have the audacity to call whichever team they like the most, "my team" to make themselves feel as though there's more connection than there actually is. People get so emotionally charged that they forget that their sole role is as a spectator.

Still, some people are worse than others. Most people in that stadium remained silent. It was only a few wastes of skin who were raising a stink.
