Anyone Make their own Revolver Grips? Just finished up a set.

It took me 3 attempts, but I finally got there. I think they turned out alright. The wood is just some scrap oak I had laying around and I finished them in a few coats of Tru-Oil. The plan is to try some maple burl next; I am glad I did not start off with the expensive wood or I would have been out some money.

Nice looking grips...curly maple is very pretty...but its a "hard" wood to cut or carve...Antler is another excellent choice...Just be sure to wear a mask if you use a power grinder.

Yep - they look GREAT ! Made a few sets over the years myself and yours have given me the incentive to make another set - maybe for my Mod 66 Smith ! A friend of mine makes custom rifle stocks and I may have to go scrounge his scrap pile for some material!

Thanks guys. The grip screws were from numrich, in case you were wanting to give it a try. They were very inexpensive; around $2 of I remember correctly.
