Really? Socialism is when the people and the government take over private enterprise in order to equalize the distribution of wealth. Since the reverse of that wealth distribution is happening in the US, we are heading toward the state where the goverment and private enterprise cooperate and command the people, it's called fascism, and that is more the direction we we are heading in.

But heading too much either way is not good for America, balance is one of our best traditions, and it is what has let us last over 200 years.

There is a huge difference between socialism and facism, and if you don't know that it's time to use the net for something other than drying your adopted opinions in the breeze.

When something not true is said, it is our duty as good Americans to say it isn't true. This is the power of free speech, it is supposed to be self corrective to keep our discourse in the domain of reality, and to raise the bar for what is acceptable. I have no repect for a man who snipes at others while hiding on the net and has no guts to take a stand. There is no debate when all people do is snipe and that is what closes threads. Stand up like men should and say what you believe.

Edited one more time to say these disscussions and debates allways end up on who got what information from what credible source. Then the counter that your source isn't credible but mine is. Men should stand for what they believe in principle not what "source" tells them.

The heart of men isn't about what they got from the net but what they believe inside. How often did you hear people say they believe in "Man caused global warming" and now we find out it's a hoax. People are being led into ruin by lies. Better a man tells what he thinks and why than repeat net works.

True, I believe the ban on derivatives was repealed on Clinton's watch......That fact is not lost on me as it was probably the most directly linked action to the current crisis. Like so many deregulation actions that one had a very unintended consequence......or maybe that was the bankers plan all along.....bleed us till were dry.....
