Oregon in 1970 was pretty good.

I was pretty good for a long time after that as well. I moved here in 1976.

The needle on the stupid meter went vertical for Central Oregon about the time the Parkway was finished. Although the population had increased dramatically it had been gradual up till then and was only around 55K at that time (about 2004) and was still 'manageable'. Not so anymore.

Love that site, the way they breakdown the stats showing what part of the body was shot, where the shooting occur on a map…. It's well worth visiting and exploring. Wish there were similar sites for Baltimore, Philly, Detroit, New York, Portland, Los Angeles….
