This ammo was made by Lake City in the late 1960s to mid-1970s. The tracer elements are typically expired at this age and most will not trace, but the ammo will function the firearm and shoot well just like regular FMJ ammo. You will still get some rounds that trace so use with the same caution in regards to brush or grass fire dangers that you would use with any tracers. Tracer ammo can and does start fires. Overall a good value for brass case surplus 5.56mm blasting ammo, great for volume shooters who use ranges where fire risk is minimal
