The case head for 30-06 is smaller than 6.5-55. You can end up with split cases using brass made from 30-06 cases for 6.5X55. 50-60 years ago people in the US made 6.5x55 brass out of 30-06 brass because 6.5x55 was difficult to find. Nowadays 6.6X55 is a lot easier to come by. I would not use or reload any brass in a 6.5X55 that was made out of 30.06.

As a follow up to my above post, here is a quote from the Lyman 48th Reloading Handbook "Shooters loading for the Swede should not under any circumstance attempt to form brass from 30-06 cases. Case diameter of the 30-06 runs .008" to .010" smaller than the Swedish cartridge. Such reformed cases will bulge dramatically when fired, or worse." Like I stated above, I would not use any cases in a 6.5X55 Swede that were made out of 30-06 brass.

Thank you. I was getting mixed opinions from my google search

I use that ppu ammo its great for the price. I don't reload myself I just don't have the space yet. Saving my brass for when I get the space.

I see, you were just hoping that .30-06 would be good to go for making 6.5 Swede brass? :D

You really don't need much space.
