Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
I was here this morning at 11 am - Old St Swithuns Churchyard, Old Weston, Cambs - to remember the the crew of a RCAF Hampden light bomber crashed on a training exercise on 23/3/42. Many thousands of fellow Canadians are buried all over the UK - as members of the Commonwealth they can lie near where they came back.
This photo was taken earlier that day in 1942 - Sgt Don Lindsey, W/Op A/G is on the right, the other crew member is one of the above.
Here are three of the four - taken by the other crew member -
and this is Don's niece - I got her over here for a memorial ceremony a few years back...
...and this is me this morning...................................
The symbolism of the red poppies has always been little different for me, and only grew more powerful once I learned of the meaning they have for the soldiers of the Commonwealth.
