A hot dog (commonly spelled hotdog) is a food consisting of a grilled or steamed sausage served in the slit of a partially sliced bun. The term hot dog can refer to the sausage itself. The sausage used is a wiener (Vienna sausage) or a frankfurter (Frankfurter Würstchen, also just called frank). The names of these sausages commonly refer to their assembled dish. Some consider a hot dog to technically be a sandwich. Hot dog preparation and condiments vary worldwide. Typical condiments include mustard, ketchup, relish, onions in tomato sauce, and cheese sauce. Common garnishes include sauerkraut, diced onions, jalapeños, chili, grated cheese, coleslaw, bacon, and olives. Hot dog variants include the corn dog and pigs in a blanket. The hot dog's cultural traditions include the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest and the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
These types of sausages were culturally imported from Germany and became popular in the United States. It became a working-class street food in the U.S., sold at stands and carts. The hot dog became closely associated with baseball and American culture. Although particularly connected with New York City and its cuisine, the hot dog eventually became ubiquitous throughout the US during the 20th century. Its preparation varies regionally in the country, emerging as an important part of other regional cuisines, including Chicago street cuisine.
Hey all!
I have added hot caustic bluing to my list of services. Pricing is going to vary significantly based on what needs to be done. A typical bolt action rifle that requires no polishing or other metal prep (just disassembly, cleaning, bluing, and reassembly) will be $400. I can do a...
I've been in the process of fire forming converted brass for the 17 KAK and discovered the heat limit for this barrel. I had been letting the barrel cool for about 10 mins between mags (didn't have all day), but it apparently was not enough . I was on my 5th mag (10 rnd) and the first 5...
A few months ago, my neighbor (who I've grown to be good friends with) brought by an old Savage 511 shotgun with tenite furniture. It had some rust and some pretty deep pitting, and the furniture had white, flakey buildup on it. He asked if I had any interest in doing some cleanup on it. I said...
Yesterday was my sister's 78th birthday. Because she lives at some distance from me, I have a tradition of calling her every birthday. She and her husband have a second home in Embalm Springs. When she answered the phone, they were driving out to eat. When she got to the restaurant, she...

I just bought a second hand die set for .30-06 with two seating dies. One looks like a normal seating die the other says RCBS Hot Shot 44. Anyone knows what it is about? I can't find any info on it or even if it for a .30-06.
It is also shorter than the standard seating die by at least 1/2"...
We went to the range today, and while I'm there I just can't seem to help picking up a little brass when I see it. I found a couple of unusual cartridges.
The first one is the occasionally seen 9/40 reverse bottleneck. Amazing that it actually shoots, but I expect accuracy is sub-par. The...

I have an 1924 Winchester 16 gauge SG I want to have hot blued. It belonged to a family member, has seen some damage, but I have it cleaned up about as well as its going to get. I've tried to call the most referred local GS on here, that does great work, left messages, and crickets, sad to say...
