This was a military Mauser model 1898 that has been sporterized. The stepped barrel was retained, and a ramp front sight installed. The receiver and barre; were polished and blued, and a Timney trigger installed. The scope is a Pecar 3-7X with a German reticle, which is ideat for dense woods...
Ok I have a Amburg 1890 mfg 1888/05 Commission Rifle here. Very nice bore. Good shooter, really likes the lee cast bullets. Ok headspace. Still in German configuration with the barrel jacket. No import stamps. The rear sight is in sandscript, so apparently the turks got it, but no other Turk...
Be willing to ship to an FFL please. These have been out of production for a few years, but should still be around. If you have one sitting in a closet, consider me interested!
I am looking for a Gew 88 , I would prefer it be an 88/35 but will consider an 88/05/14 or an 88/05 as well . Needs to be in nice condition , but I will consider a rifle with a shot out barrel.
