The failure of gun control

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or native police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order throughout the occupied Russian territories, and a system of military strong-points must be evolved to cover the entire occupied country."

-Adolf Hitler

A couple more for you Thomas Jefferson fans.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

Most bad government has grown out of too much government.

History, in general, only informs us what bad government is.

The man who reads nothing at all is better than educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.

In matters of style, swim with the current;
In matters of principle, stand like a rock.

What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

“A great wave of oppressive tyranny isn't going to strike, but rather a slow seepage of oppressive laws and regulations from within will sink the American dream of liberty”

There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.”

The pro-gun organization Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) has a publication in which they report the massive slaughters that have taken place in countries that enacted gun bans during the 20th century. If you haven't read it, you should.

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense (waiting for an attack).

The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

2 If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

3 I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

4 When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

5 A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'

6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.'

7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!

But wait, there's more!

I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house.. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, 'Of course it is loaded -- can't work without bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, 'No, not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded, too.' To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From
1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th
Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia
were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal
firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program
costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are
now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens
turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still
possess their guns!

It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady
decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed
drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals
now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and
assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a
loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such
monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully
ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian
experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear
politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and
property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only
the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please
remind him of this history lesson.

With Guns...........We Are 'Citizens'.
Without Them........We Are 'Subjects'.

During W.W.II the Japanese decided not to invade America
because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

Note: Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Pearl
Harbor had attended Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval
Attachment to the U. S. 1925-28. Most of our Navy was
destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been deprived
of funding & was ill prepared to defend the country.

It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up
the Pearl Harbor attack with an invasion of the U. S.
Mainland, his reply was that he had lived in the U. S. &
knew that almost all households had guns.

How many of you are aware that the 1968 American gun law is taken almost word for word from the 1938 Nazi Germany gun law? The Jews for Preservation of Firearms ownership have the PROOF for this! 23 years after defeating Germany we're living living under the Nazi gun law!
