YAKIMA, Wash. - A Yakima man is shot in the chest after refusing to give money to a couple of robbers.

Police say around 7:45 p.m. Sunday night a man and a woman entered the convenient store, La Morenita on the 300 Block of W. MLK Blvd. The suspects were wearing masks and when they asked to clerk for money he refused. One of the suspects then shot the clerk. He was taken to Yakima Memorial.

Police are still looking for the suspects.

I bet the clerk learned his lesson. The next time a robber asks for the money he will open the cash drawer and toss the money on the counter.

Hopefully he will then draw his own weapon to defend himself from being shot while they are busy picking up the cash.
