I love this random yard implement.
I've had it for at least 20 yrs.
Trying to figure out what it is . Seems cheap enough for me to buy a few more, which is why I ask...wth is it

I expect to be carpet bombed with "some calls it a Kaiser blade" responses. After that please let me know what I'm shopping for

I'm not sure but it looks like something my kids would leave laying around so I could step on the metal end and then have the handle crack me in the grapes. :s0160:
 
Those use to be called...

Brush Axe

Used them when surveying timber. Lighter and safer to carry than a double-bit or a felling axe.


Edit to add: Just looked them up. I see them listed under Brush Axe and Clearing Axe.

I tried using one of these at my friends x-mas tree farm.
I was in the emergency room 40 minutes later getting a bunch of stitches on my kneecap.
His dog lost the tip of his nose the same day.
