I just typed into google and found about ten on the first page, so not sure what's wrong with your browser. Multiple news sources all saying Capitol Police.
I am pretty sure Capitol Police are required to wear uniforms. I am trimming brass right now so I don't have time to search it out again. I just said I heard it that's all. We will see. I also heard she was shot in the neck and chest by two different sources too. I thought it was strange.

Doesn't really matter. Doesn't change anything. Semantics in the end. Someone with the authority to protect the Capitol from traitors and insurrectionists did their job very well and put down a terrorist. He did good work.

That woman made a lot of bad choices which at any time she could have said, "huh, maybe I shouldn't go through this window when someone with the authority to kill me is pointing a gun at me and saying not to do what I'm about to do."

Woohoo ... thread closure warning!

On topic: I have a hard time being sympathetic to somebody who was doing something they should have had enough personal accountability to not do.

Protesting and making your opinion heard? Fine, no issue.
Entering capital building? Gray area, some videos showing police peacefully allowed orderly entrance which would be OK. Other videos showing entry through broken windows which is not ok.
Yelling, attacking, hitting, whatever to capital police? Not ok
Trying to enter an unauthorized area? Not ok

Can't blame Trump or antifa or anybody else. Personal accountability for your actions and if you try to enter an area you aren't supposed to enter and you get shot .. then you done wrong.

I'm saddened she made decisions that led to her being in that position at that moment though. I don't think she's a bad person. Don't know her. She just bubblegumered up...

Nice to see a realistic response to what happened.

Yeah there are always those sort of potentials that we have to account for. I dont disagree. I have to ask...did you say that last sentence out loud or to yourself after typing it?
No, I didn't.
Its just...like that's where we are now. That sentence isn't ridiculous or untrue in any way. Its tough to comprehend how we got to this point...and even more difficult to accept where it seems we are going from here.
Here's how I think we got to this point. There's one major American political party that has long trafficked in racial division as a strategy of power. The Democrats were the party of slavery and Jim Crow for many decades and pretended to serve the interests of White working class people but slavery and Jim Crow only really benefited a small minority of the population--people who owned slaves and, later, the large businesses and plantations.

Some time around World War II the Democratic party started pretending to serve the interests of Black working class people, too. By the 60s and 70s they decided to (mostly covertly) stick it to White working class people in the name of an "anti-racism" that left the power and wealth of elites unscathed. Things escalated greatly in terms of open racial division and exploitation when Obama got elected and then went through the roof when Trump was elected.

Don't get me wrong the Republican Party isn't so hot either but they have never trafficked in racial division as consistently, successfully, or for as long as the Democrats. And there have always been good and decent Democrats--White, Black, Latino, Asian etc.--who didn't see or support the strategy of racial division. What we need now is a party that will openly and resolutely expose and challenge that strategy before it results in the far worse situation we are headed for.

Unfortunately, I think the Democratic Party will double-down on racial division and the Republicans will fail to rise to the historic challenge that faces all Americans. I hope I am mistaken.

Bad choices? Probably. Terrorist? No. She was a Patriot who was trying to prevent her country from being taken over by communists.

1. Her Twitter account has about 3 years worth of MAGA posts.
2. Her family stated that she was a Trump supporter.
3. She was wearing MAGA gear and storming the Capitol Building.

THERE is much more to this woman. Q, psyop QAnon believer big time, Lin Wood's OWN comments, FILM/RECORDINGS of her in the past and recent, etc.

Some people need to do their research from several sources and film footage from ALL SOURCES.

Sad that she died. Veteran or not. A lawsuit was settled. SHE was the aggressor. State of Maryland - past history. She had a temper. She had OPINIONS as we all have them.

SHE STATED what she wanted to do. She was a cult follower in more ways than one even if she leaned 'conservative' in some things.

LISTEN TO HER WORDS. SEE WHAT SHE WROTE AND WHO SHE QUOTED.

I believe that she was brainwashed in a specific way too. A lot of people are brainwashed on BOTH SIDES. A lot of people follow people on both sides and put all of their trust in them when you can't and should not trust SPECIFIC men/women since they are proven to be untrustworthy due to their RECORDS and past history.

Some people are conned by people too.

NO one has the right to destroy private or public property.

When an area is CLOSED and you are TOLD not to enter it - you stop and obey what the SIGN SAYS or what a Federal, state, county, city, rural, etc. peace officer TELLS YOU WHAT TO DO.

Some of the MAGA PEOPLE were peaceful. MOST of them were peaceful!

Some of them were NOT peaceful.

Some of the agents (FALSE MAGA people.) were BUSSED IN WITH 4 BUSSES IF NOT MORE and they were escorted in by the D.C. police. Fact not fiction.

Agents = professional AGITATORS, Burn/Loot/Murder, Antifa, Commies, funded by Soros and others, etc.

Some of them were on the FAR LEFT and some of them were on the FAR RIGHT.

Some of them were in the PNW and in other riots that were NOT peaceful protests and FULL OF DESTRUCTION and hurting/murdering people. Their pictures and tats show this and some of them have been already ID'd.

Some of the peace officers were NOT armed. LOOK at some of those films.

Some of them were armed and Swat was armed as we all know.

The woman DIED due to her own actions. Sad thing that she died. She could have been punched or sprayed to FALL BACKWARDS with NO shot fired but that did not happen.

YOU do stupid things and do not follow direct orders while breaking and/or crawling/entering through windows/doors... you will get HURT in one way or the other.

Sad thing.

I am SAD that many people got hurt and others died.

Some of you may know what I think should have happened to some of those criminals in your states. They should have been STOPPED - period. I will not say more.

The woman and many other people who went to D.C. were NOT too bright in thinking that it would all be wonderful like in some peaceful situation.

YOU still have and did HAVE people itching for a fight - salivating for it from ALL sides including on the so called 'conservative side'.

TRUE conservatives respect private and public property! They have a clue on what VIOLENCE does and does not do so they TRY TO AVOID IT unless they are on a real battlefield.

VIOLENCE and destruction of property and LIVES are not the ways to solve these problems NO matter if you are a cult follower on the R or L or NO cult follower at all.

There are actual records where people were LET IN THE DOORS by guards - footage. Some were tourists and peaceful and some of them were NOT. When some doors got SHUT TIGHT - some people were STUCK INSIDE and apart from some other people in their group including some film crews from some news websites. A religious one but I am not allowed to say the C word here from what I gather.

I am VERY sad to hear that a peace officer died and he was struck on the head hard. There is so much footage out there from the RIGHT, left, and middle and it is NOT all 'main stream news' too.

US Capitol Police officer dies after DC riots (nypost.com)

There are many questions about this entire mess. MANY people are to blame.

CALLS were made for more police help and the NG too. ON record and not some fake news as so many people say. There should have been more police on hand with MORE NG people present before all this crapola happened. (Just like it should have been handled in the PNW with stupid stand down orders and crazy leaders who cater to criminals!)

There should have been LIMITS on entry and exit due to the EXCITEMENT and cult leaders egging some people on.

Crazy Land = District of Criminals for sure followed by more crazy-senile land in the future.

You sound extremely gullible. None of what you wrote is true, except maybe that authority was granted, then wrongly applied in this example. If not criminally liable, he and his department should be sued in civil court into poverty.

Do you have a source for this? Are you by any chance talking about the video that was shown on TruNews? I am genuinely interested because I saw the TruNews video and I don't believe that was DC. It was not an urban environment (not a single high rise building visible anywhere), and I think it must have been video of another time and place. Also, the guy in the video clearly referred to "state troopers" and not "police." Looked to me like TruNews was misled by whoever submitted that clip. So, if you have another source, that would be very interesting.

What was the nature of injury? I still have not seen anything beyond... "injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries"

He was beat to death with a fire extinguisher

His "department" is the Federal government. You can't sue that into poverty. Qualified immunity. Your taxes pay the bills.

This thread is an example of the sad spectacle the right-wing and Republican party have become. We're arguing with each other over which way is up and which conspiracy theory to follow down the rabbit hole because we simply can't accept the truth anymore.

Look at the history of this country's Presidential elections: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election#Electoral_college_results

I see lots of red and lot of blue. There is no "grand conspiracy". Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. The pendulum swings. Everyone here barking about conspiracy theories regarding the election or the riot should be DEEPLY embarrassed about what they've become simply because they can't handle the fact that we LOST this round.

If so they would engage in some helpful and decent banter and help keep this community together.

Lets bring the discussion back around to Ashi Babbitt.

No need to "call out" forum members for their postings....we are aware.

Its best not to comment on certain posts , especially when , you could guess that it won't change a thing and only add to the mess here.

Greeks? Socrates? When did the precedent of discord start? Gotta love the Roman Period in History! How about them Kings, Queens and Bishops? Hitler was voted in by the people who loved him because he "spoke" to them and their perceptions. What is going on America?

In the United States, qualified immunity is a legal principle that grants government officials performing discretionary functions immunity from civil suits unless the plaintiff shows that the official violated "clearly established statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known".

Sue into poverty is a figure of speech, not to be taken literally, like your remarks.

I can only speak for myself.

I think there is enough suspicious issues that it warrants a deep investigation. And that needs to happen and it needs to be transparent in order to provide closure.

But multiple things can be true at the same time, right?

So even though I have frustrations of things that appear to be fraud, I'm not convinced it was enough to change the results. It could have, but it might not have. So you are correct, I think we lost.

We lost because at the end of the day, Trump didn't do what he needed to do. He is such a polarizing person that he drove massive opposition. It's like boxing, ufc, battlebots... whatever... don't leave it to the judges to decide. You have to really win.

More than Trump winning, I wanted a massive declarative statement win one way or the other. Something like, California flipped or Texas flipped ... and I don't mean 1 city in a red state going blue to cause a tightly contested state to switch like we got. But rather an actual indisputable statement.

But the bigger picture that people should be thinking about is how many people there are that disagree with each other so vehemently. Cannot dismiss the fact that half the country voted against the other half in the widest spread most divided election I've personally experienced.

I don't know, I think I'm rambling now.
