Cool bull snake! Reminds me of an encounter I had in central OR with a big rattlesnake being eaten by a kingsnake. I have pics of it on my hard drive somewhere. Kingsnake was smaller than rattlesnake so I guess it was going to be a long term meal...I was hiking with my mom near Tygh Valley on Saturday and she almost stepped on this little guy. I would guess he was about 14-17 inches long.

Not a bull snake but a good guess. I am pretty sure he is a northern pacific rattlesnake. Northerns have solid stripes on the tail whereas bull snakes have more broken up markings.Cool bull snake! No pics, but this one reminds me of the time I was driving into town and noticed what I thought, was a large dog sitting on the side of the road.
