Ok, I'm confused about who is invading; are we talking Russian mafia or mail order brides?

Taking over the US economy one segment at a time. Tile layers, towing business, any construction trade that does not require a license or certification.

Best way to test your anti virus software is to find the nastiest Russian porn site you can and if your av software blocks you are good.:eek:

The locksmith scammers are from the middle east--If you call a locksmith and the person who answers says 'Call Center' you best hang up

There are no construction trades that do not require a license or certification. My grandson cannot even rake the neighbors leaves because he is not certified or licensed. Plus he is a monor and has no log of the hours he has already worked this week. Waiting for is fine to come in the mail.

.

True. I was a GC for 25 years. Oregon law requires all trades to be licensed. There are hundreds of "contractors" working in this state without licenses. The majority of the problems are in the residential sector under 100K. I am trying to unscrew a project for a friend right now who paid a licensed contractor for work, the scab walked away but failed to pay his material suppliers. Now my friend got hit with a lien foreclosure by one of the suppliers.

We are getting the job completed with another contractor who has me watching his azz all day. Get this wrapped up on Monday with a couple minor sub contractor jobs and then we are going after the original contractor with a civil suit. We already filed for his bond with the CCB. Second in line right now.

Russians are fine, it's the Communist Running Dog Socialist Gulag Filling KGB spawn like Putin you have to worry about. Most don't know this but there is more American blood on Soviet Cold War hands than I want to contemplate, again. Not to mention Russian blood on Cold War Russian hands.

Brutus Out

Ok, I hear ya. And agree. I guess it's just the honest folks that get punished for hard work and integrity. We all end up paying for those that slip in the back door. I'm afraid there is much more of that to come in the near future though.

Uhhhh, that was Cuba. ;)

Oh boy, a challenge on 80's movie trivia! Boohahaha!
Actually, it was a joint Cuban/Soviet invasion. Soviets invaded by air and down through Alaska ("until we stopped them butt cold", and Cubans rolled up from occupied Mexico. The Cubans were initially in charge of the zone of occupation around 'Calumet Colorado" until they were outmatched by our heroic high school Wolverines and the scowling Russians took over. When I saw it in the theater in high school I was taking notes figuring I might be tested on it someday ;-)

I heard the AK's they used were really Maddi's.
Russian AK's were hard to get. :s0092:

Oh Crap. Now I'm a ''Gun movie Nerd''. :D

Really? Now I'm going to have to watch it again. Ha!

In other words, there are hundreds of contractors who support liberty.

Licenses are just a scam used by people in trades and professions to keep out competition, so they can charge their customers more. It's a perversion of the free market.

Whenever somebody tells you that licensing is needed to protect "the people" from harm, hang onto your wallet.

Let the market decide.

I would prefer a licensed surgeon to operate on me - but that should be your choice.

Eh, I'd be more interested in their success rate than what a piece of paper says.

That is of course a factor too, but it depends at least in part on the cases they take.

When I crushed my foot and was laying in an ER, I didn't ask for a second opinion or shop around for a surgeon, the surgeon on duty who took my case operated on me the next morning and I went home the next day. He did a pretty good job IMO.
