It would be nice to have subsonic capability in a 223 firearm, if that is what you have. Sure you could buy a 300BO or pop in a CMMG 22lr kit but you can't easily reload 22lr.

With a 77gr load at 1070fps you should get almost twice the energy as a typical standard velocity 22lr load. And with a 223 handload you could tailor it to your firearm.

Sizer. Bullet sizer. A bullet sizing die for a particular bullet diameter.

wouldn't a slow 9mm be more effective? I mean, 55-70 grains or so at under 1100ft/sec sounds "sad" but if it makes you happy, I'm happy

Some people want to do this for the sake of versatility. I've read stuff online, maybe even some here, about people doing it with Blue Dot.
