I've had pretty good results with Berrys 220 grain and 1680 but it's dirty! Picked up some VV N120 kinda looks like 10.8 at 2.23 is a good starting point. Anybody have good results with this powder. Shooting out of10.3" Tri Arc with a can. Thanks for any feed back.

Loaded 10 each of Berrys 220 2.23 oal, 10.8, 10.6 and 10.4 of VV n120. Range tomorrow, I'll report back.
Went to the range all functioned, 10.6 seems like a good number. Wished I had a chrono but all seemed quieter then 1680. About the same accuracy.

I call 1680 "ThunderPowder". It gives the most reliable function in ARs, but is the loudest powder I've tried for 300 BLK subs. I hear similar report from others.

4227 works pretty well for subs in ARs and is quiet.

I have written up a couple threads on 300 BO subsonic and various powders, primers and bullets. My go too easy, consistent, quiet and accurate plinking load is 220 berry's + starline brass + CCI small rifle primer and 9.0grains H110. It meters very well. I can crank them out on the progressive. Usually about 4 rounds per minute. I also like I4227 for similar reasons in the progressive. Both of these are much much quieter than 1680. And 1680 is almost as dirty as they come. I have a couple 5# of 1680 just because. But I don't use it unless I'm out of my others.

Side note, Alliant Red Dot shotgun powder will blow your mind. Just off memory alone I think it was about 5.0 grains. Nearly full case fill. And crazy quiet. Sounds like a staple gun.

I did 3.6 gr shotgun powder, I think it was Solo1000, with a 110 gr VMAX. It sounded like a desk stapler. Wasn't good for much more than schwacking bunnies or maybe light bulbs.
