I'm interested in knowing what everyone's major or degree is in.
My undergraduate degree is a BFA and my graduate degree is in psychology. What do I do for a living? I built custom furniture, then I was a house flipper, and now I am a bar owner. I am really doing a good job of wasting both degrees.
Does all of the above count for your poll? :bluelaugh: I've been working since 15 (full-time since 19). I'm obviously a vet, and have a BA in Political Science (I even worked full-time my entire time in school). To make things worse, I'm about to start school AGAIN, to get EMT certified.
I have a B.S. in Pastoral Theology
BS in Economics, class of '75. Minor in hard knocks.
FYI, I never have used calculus since I left school.
How's the Bar ownership going?
This seems like one of those jobs that everybody dreams about, but then anyone you ever talk to who actually does it says it's way more work than you'd think?
Did you buy an established Bar or start fresh? And for goddsakes man are the waitresses hot?!!

We are starting from the ground up. We just signed our lease a few weeks ago and have gutted the place to the studs. The stage side is about 60% complete and we will soon be starting on the lounge/bar side where most of the work is needed.
Luckily I have worked in bars before so I knew how hard a job it was when going into it.
We do not have any staff hired yet. Unless you count the construction guys...and no, they are not that pretty.
I have an Associates of Arts degree, Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology, and I'm back in school working towards my doctorate in physical therapy.

Well once it's up and running post an announcement so we all know which Bar to get rowdy in!
I'm assuming since it's Portland, when you say "stage" you're talking about a stage that purposely avoids getting scuffed by high heels
